Business Development Representative

We are looking for a passionate Business Development Representative to join our growing Business Development Team. This position is focused on establishing new referral partnerships in the representative’s assigned vertical. This position works closely with leadership to create and implement creative business development and marketing strategies to generate new partner relationships and expand current partners.

Essential Job Functions/Duties:

  • Identifies and establishes business relationships with prospective partners to build Utility Concierge’s brand and business by calling, making in-person visits, and delivering presentations 
  • Develops and maintains business relationships and design mutually beneficial proposals
  • Conducts market, industry, and competitive intelligence research analysis for business development opportunities contributing to plans for strategic growth 
  • Works with leadership to create, prepare, and coordinate sales proposals/pitches and responses to Requests for Proposals
  • Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers; Negotiates contracts with strategic partners 
  • Liaise with partners to solve issues, communicate needs, and foster collaboration 
  • Analyze and report on partner initiatives, forecast for strategic changes, and report on key metrics 
  • Builds Utility Concierge’s network through targeted outreach and project planning; Represents Utility Concierge at external events with referral partners 
  • Responsible for adhering to personal metrics such as lead volume, ensuring quality of leads, and partner satisfaction survey results
  • Other job duties as assigned and deemed appropriate by management


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management, Communications or related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience in an outside sales role with proven success 
  • Prior experience working with Real Estate agents, Home Builders, or Insurance Agencies
  • Must be able to work a non-standard schedule, including evenings, weekends and participate in on-call duties as required 

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to make outbound phone calls for 3+ hours a day
  • Ability to establish rapport quickly and build collaborative relationships with diverse partners
  • Demonstrated ability to clarify and manage partner expectations
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to represent Utility Concierge in a professional manner externally 
  • Proven presentation skills (i.e., public speaking) and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong organizational, time and calendar management skills
  • Ability to travel by air or vehicle to attend business-related functions, including nights and weekends if necessary

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Salesforce

Work Environment: Office Setting and Field

Travel Requirements: Up to 50% of the time to call on new accounts
